SouthEnd Dentistry: Comprehensive, Conservative Dentistry

Dr. Bradford Picot, founder of SouthEnd Dentistry, preaches conservative dentistry to all of his staff and patients. Conservative dentistry is characterized by a light touch—only doing damage to existing tooth structures if absolutely necessary to repair them.

While most dentists wouldn’t question the way they have always performed their work on their patients, Dr. Picot tries something different. He always works with his patients to develop the best, most noninvasive treatment plans designed to both solve the dental problem at hand and to ensure that the work they do lasts as long as it can.

SouthEnd Dentistry brings a new way to think about dental care that is constantly embodied by Dr. Picot. He and his staff believe that long-lasting dental care comes from the practice of keeping most tooth structures intact whenever possible and keeping all of their patients in on the loop when discussing treatment plans and options.

When filling cavities, for instance, Dr. Picot uses a CEREC, a machine that automatically generates a digitized image of the patient’s teeth and creates a ceramic filling perfectly suited for its purpose. While most dentists would have to take out a section of the tooth to fill the cavity, this machine allows Dr. Picot to keep most of the tooth intact for the procedure.
